Waning Gibbous
Gratitude, reflection, and the transmission of wisdom
After the culmination of the Full Moon, the waning begins. The Waning Gibbous is a phase of transmission: you have already achieved something, and now you can share it with others. This is a time for gratitude, reflection, and generosity.
Energetically this phase is connected with exchange. What have you learned during this lunar cycle? What can you share — knowledge, experience, resources, support? The Waning Gibbous is the best time for teaching, writing, and mentoring.
In many traditions the waning moon was associated with the wisdom of the elder woman — she who has walked the path and now lights it for others. This is not weariness or fading — it is maturity and generosity.
A ritual: write a letter of gratitude to yourself for the cycle that has passed. List three lessons, three victories, three moments for which you are grateful. Then consider: to whom could you pass on something of value — support, advice, a resource? Do that in the coming days.
